DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin this workshop for a quick overview of 
 Patents\n\n\n	What is a patent?\n\n\n\n	Why are they important? 
 \n\n\n\n	How can you search for patents? \n\n\nBy the end of this session\, 
 participants will be able to\n\n\n	Define the four types of intellectual 
 property\n\n\n\n	Describe multiple types of patents\n\n\n\n	and perform a 
 basic patent search\n\n\nPatents are used to protect research in both 
 academics and industry.  Attend this workshop to learn the basics. \n\n 
 \n\nJodi Psoter is the Librarian for Climate & Sustainability and Librarian 
 for Marine Science & Conservation.  She teaches students\, faculty\, and 
 staff how to make research more effective and the process more efficient 
 using library resources. Jodi has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from 
 Virginia Tech and a Masters in Library Science from Southern CT State 
 University.\n\nA zoom link will be sent via email to registered 
 participants the morning of the workshop \n\n
