Exhibit Opening and Reception: Senses of Venice

Join us for a reception celebrating our new exhibit in the Chappell Family Gallery, Senses of Venice, curated by Kristin Huffman and Bradford Lewis, with Noah Michaud T'21, Angela Tawfik T'19, Daphne Turan T'21, Mary Kate Weggeland T'19, and Ashley Jeffers T'21.

The exhibit, on display through December 15, 2019, offers twenty-first-century visitors the chance to re-enact the experience of eighteenth-century tourists on the Grand Tour. Multimedia displays accompany exceptional pieces from the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library. This exhibit includes a pristine copy of Ludovico Ughi’s groundbreaking map of Venice, created in 1729 using advanced surveying techniques.

Co-sponsored by the Department of Art, Art History & Visual Studies and the Wired! Lab for Digital Art History & Visual Culture.

Light refreshments will be served.
