Digital Brown Bag | Anatomy of a Wired! Course
The Wired! Lab for Digital Art History and Visual Culture is a community of students, staff, and faculty using visualization technologies to explore visual and material culture. In the classroom, they engage students in faculty-led research and challenge them to develop their own digital research projects. In this presentation, Hannah Jacobs (Digital Humanities Specialist) will share pedagogical approaches and logistical considerations that inform the structure and digital components of Wired! Lab courses. Together, we’ll consider
• learning objectives for digital projects;
• considerations for balancing existing course content with digital components;
• scoping a digital project;
• structures of project assignments;
• workshop schedules and formats; and
• considerations for planning and support.
Hannah will also share sample materials and resources that can be useful for planning and implementing digital humanities components in the classroom.
