Rfun - Version Control, Git, & GitHub

In this hands-on workshop you will discover how to harness version control using Git and GitHub.  Additional applications, including RStudio and Sublime Merge, will be used in class as you gain experience with version control in our workshop setting.  Git is a powerful version control system.  Git Hub is a social coding repository.  RStudio is an open-source data science platform/ecosystem supporting reproducible analysis and report generation.

To fully participate in this workshop, please bring your own laptop.  This workshop focuses on the practical aspects of configuring RStudio with Git in effort to leverage social coding and GitHub.  Following the workshop you will have the skills to use Git/GitHub without using RStudio.  However, we will use and focus on the R & RStudio implementation in class.

NOTE:  Bring your laptop.

  1. Install R & RStudio on your laptop in advance (instructions).  We will not use any cloud versions for this workshop.
  2. Install the tidyverse package in advance (instructions)
