Book Discussion: "What the Best College Teachers Do" by Ken Bain
What makes a great teacher great? Who are the professors students remember long after graduation? What the Best College Teachers Do, by Ken Bain, is the conclusion of a fifteen-year study of nearly one hundred college teachers in a wide variety of fields and universities, and offers valuable answers for all educators.
New faculty at Duke received a copy of this book at New Faculty Orientation in August 2018, and are invited to join us to discuss the book. Others are welcome, too - we'll provide a copy of the book to faculty and instructors you register at least a week in advance; the e-book is also available from the Duke Library).
