Book Discussion: "What the Best College Teachers Do" by Ken Bain
What makes a great teacher great? Who are the professors students remember long after graduation? What the Best College Teachers Do, by Ken Bain, is the conclusion of a fifteen-year study of nearly one hundred college teachers in a wide variety of fields and universities, and offers valuable answers for all educators. Come engage with the pedagogical community at Duke in an informal discussion of the book.
New faculty at Duke received a copy of this book at New Faculty Orientation in August 2018. We'll provide a copy of the book to instructors who don't have one, if you register at least a week in advance.
