Digital Humanities Consulting Workshop: Deconstructing digital scholarship
Over three consecutive Wednesdays, DSS and the Humanities Section of RIS will host a workshop to develop librarians’ skills in digital scholarship consultation. This workshop is based on the 2018 ALA Preconference “Deconstructing Digital Scholarship Consultations in the Library” and serves as a pilot for training DUL librarians to consult on digital scholarship projects. Seating is limited to 15 people. Preference will be given to subject liaisons who work with humanities departments and projects.
July 18 - Deconstructing Digital Scholarship
At this second workshop, participants will Identify critical components of digital projects; gain a sense of digital scholarship typologies; and gain understanding of their own approach to and affinities for digital scholarship consultation.
Preparation:
- Read / watch the following:
- Review project list to decide which project you are interested in, then begin familiarizing yourself with that project.
(NOTE: we will not be considering STEM or Text Encoding projects for this activity)
