Structuring the Classroom for Inclusive Teaching

Join Dr. Kelly Hogan (Assistant Dean of Instructional Innovation, UNC-Chapel Hill) and Dr. Viji Sathy (Teaching Associate Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience, UNC-Chapel Hill) for this active workshop on inclusive teaching. The session will highlight the need for high course structure and will model techniques designed to elicit equity in the classroom.

Lunch will be provided for those who register by Thursday 10/19/2017.

Note that the workshop activities will begin promptly at 11:30 am, so we encourage registrants to arrive several minutes prior to the official start time in order to find a seat. The formal workshop will end around 1 pm, and lunch will be available at that time. Attendees are welcome to stay in the workshop room to eat and informally discuss what they learned from 1 pm until 2 pm if they wish.

Priority for registration is for Duke teaching faculty and graduate student instructors; others may attend as space allows.

This event is sponsored by the Center for Instructional Technology, Trinity College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office,
