Web Scraping: Gathering webpage data, parsing, and APIs
This hands-on workshop will enable participants to build a data corpus of congressional press releases; scrape, crawl and parse HTML, interact with a basic API, and parse JSON.
Laptop Required. You must have the Chrome browser installed. You must have an installed version of OpenRefine. Familiarity with regex (regular expressions) is highly recommended. See previous workshop guides and videos.
Prerequisite: OpenRefine Workshop on Jan. 23
Please note: Laptops are required for this course.
