Web Scraping: Gathering data, parsing, APIs, and Twitter (DVS Workshop Series)

This hands-on workshop will enable participants to

  • Build a data corpus of congressional press releases

  • Interact with a hands-on introduction to HTML parsing
    ​

Participants will receive a briefing/introduction to

  1. Application Programming Interface (API) concepts
  2. JSON data format
  3. HTML tagging and parsing
  4. Overview of automation techniques related to social media data gathering

 

 Please note: Laptops are required for this course.
