Resilient Duke: an ONLINE climate themed reading group
Interested in climate change? Want to think about practical and optimistic actions that you can implement? This group is for you! Resilient Duke is an online space for the Duke community to discuss applying pragmatically optimistic* ideas to address climate change. Join facilitator Jodi Psoter, Librarian for Climate & Sustainability, to talk about how we can reframe climate narratives and bring climate optimism to conversations and solutions.
*The term “pragmatic climate optimism” is attributed to the talk “The Case for Climate Optimism” given by Charlie Sellars at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business on October 8, 2025.

To ensure a lively conversation, some pre-work is suggested. We encourage you to read the book, but understand that may not be possible.
Our discussion will be based on Climate imagination : dispatches from hopeful futures a collection positive climate future works that include short-stories, essays, and art.
Whether you read, listen, or watch, come prepared to recommend one big idea that could be accomplished campus-wide and one idea that you could realistically implement for yourself.
A zoom link will be sent via email to registered participants to join the workshop.
