Getting Started with Copilot in Microsoft 365

This session provides an accessible introduction to Microsoft Copilot for attendees with little or no prior experience using Copilot in Microsoft 365. The goal is to build a clear understanding of what Copilot is, what capabilities are available today, and how it fits into the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

We’ll begin with the fundamentals of Copilot, covering the core chat and AI experiences available with a standard Microsoft 365 subscription. This includes an overview of Copilot Chat, examples of how conversational AI can support everyday work, and guidance on how to use these tools effectively and responsibly.

Next, we’ll explore the enhanced Microsoft 365 Copilot experience available with the Copilot add-on license. This portion will highlight how Copilot integrates directly into Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneDrive, providing context-aware assistance grounded in organizational data. Practical scenarios will be used to illustrate where these capabilities add the most value.

We’ll then broaden the view to advanced Copilot capabilities within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including an overview of lightweight agents, automation, and extensibility. This high-level discussion will show how tools like Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and Teams can work together, and will serve as a preview of a follow-up, hands-on session focused on building and customizing AI solutions using Copilot Studio and other advanced Microsoft Copilot offerings.
