Engaging Students in Dialogue About AI

The growing use of generative AI in producing writing, code, images, and information calls for deeper discussions with students about its impact on learning. As educators, we must be informed about generative AI and clearly articulate our stance on its use in our classrooms and disciplines. This is a challenge for instructors who are short on time and/or don't have a background in the study of artificial intelligence. This presentation offers a framework for engaging students in dialogue about generative AI and its role in their learning. You will leave with actionable suggestions about how to become AI literate yourself and how to discuss this important topic with students.
