Custom Approaches to Visualizing Likert Scale Survey Data using {ggplot2}

[In-person] This is an intermediate {ggplot2} workshop designed both as an exploration of different ways to visualize Likert scale survey results and a tutorial on how to implement those approaches in R. We'll discuss benefits and drawbacks of three approaches: the 100% stacked bar, a custom distribution heatmap, and a custom jittered strip plot. You will walk away from the workshop with an expanded view of how your survey data can be visualized, along with reproducible code for each of the three visualization types that you can repurpose for your own projects. This event is open to non-Duke participants.

NOTES AND CONSIDERATIONS:

  • If you wish to follow along with the examples in the workshop, please bring a laptop and have the latest version of R and RStudio installed.
  • This is an intermediate {ggplot2} workshop, so some familiarity with {dplyr} and {ggplot2} syntax is recommended.

The content of the workshop may be recorded. If you are uncomfortable with a recording being published, please contact the instructor at any time prior to the conclusion of the workshop.
