Book Talk: Crip Spacetime by Margaret Price

Book Talk: Crip Spacetime by Margaret Price

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Margaret Price, Associate Professor and Director of the Disability Studies Program at Ohio State University and author of Crip Spacetime: Access, Failure, and Accountability in Academic Life (Duke University Press, 2024), and Dr. Hannah Taylor, Lecturer in the Thompson Writing Program.

In her new book, Price intervenes in the competitive, productivity-focused realm of academia by sharing the everyday experiences of disabled academics. Drawing on more than three hundred interviews and survey responses, Price demonstrates that individual accommodations—the primary way universities address accessibility—actually impede access rather than enhance it.

Light refreshments will be served. Books will be available fo purchase and signing.

In-person but participants can also join on Zoom.

Please register to attend and let us know if you'll be joining in-person or online.
