Poster Design Quick Tips

The end of the spring semester offers many opportunities to present research at poster sessions. From Visible Thinking to Bass Connections to departmental showcases, April is high poster time at Duke!

Whether this is your first time making a poster or you've made several before, it never hurts to get some new inspiration, or even just a few tips on what tends to work well. This one-hour workshop will cover basic design tips for effective posters. There won't be any hands-on exercises, but you'll learn about organizing your content, limiting your text, adding graphics to increase the visual appeal, choosing colors, and preparing yourself for the actual session.

Note: this is part one of a two-part session. Immediately after this workshop, from 4 to 5pm, there will be a special feedback session for people who have already created a draft version of their posters. Plan to join us for both parts to get the full experience!
