The Ethics of DH Labor [Munch & Mull Digital Scholarship discussion group]

At the 2016 DLF Forum Stacie Williams delivered a riveting and provocative keynote, All Labor Is Local. Within a few months, a new DLF working group had formed around the topic of labor in digital libraries and presented on its initial work at this year’s forum. We’ll ease our way into this topic with a DH+lib piece by Laura Braunstein, “Open Stacks: Making DH Labor Visible,” that covers the many layers of hidden and invaluable work underlying digital humanities scholarship. Together with Williams’ talk, we’ll consider the implications for how we pursue digital scholarship and digital librarianship here at Duke.
