Problems in Digital Publishing: Metadata, Discovery, Linked Open Data [Digital Publishing Workshop]
This workshop will help participants understand how to make digital resources easier to discover, reuse, and query. Beginning with an overview of [linked] open data (semantic web, RDF), we'll study examples of how digital publishing/scholarship projects have made their data open for creative remixing and open research.
The Digital Publishing Workshop series invites faculty, graduate students, and staff to explore digital publishing topics through informal workshops focused on specific concepts or tools. Hosted by Duke Libraries Digital Scholarship Services and co-sponsored by Trinity Technology Services, this series will help participants learn about practical ways to plan, develop, and contribute to digital publishing projects in the humanities.
Sessions feature brief topic overviews and tool demonstrations with open Q&A. Presenters will also highlight resources in the Libraries and at Duke for pursuing further work. Following each workshop, participants are welcome to linger in the Studio for hands-on practice or follow-up consultations.
