Multimodal Publishing (part I) [Digital Publishing Workshop]

This session will provide an overview of common options for publishing sound and video on the Web, focusing on the benefits of various platforms, licensing and rights issues, and methods of integrating sound and video into research publications.  Platforms and tools will include Vimeo, YouTube, SoundCloud, and, for presenting materials in an interactive timeline, Knight Lab's Timeline JS software.

The Digital Publishing Workshop series invites faculty, graduate students, and staff to explore digital publishing topics through informal workshops focused on specific concepts or tools. Hosted by Duke Libraries Digital Scholarship Services and co-sponsored by Trinity Technology Services, this series will help participants learn about practical ways to plan, develop, and contribute to digital publishing projects in the humanities.

 

Sessions feature brief topic overviews and tool demonstrations with open Q&A. Presenters will also highlight resources in the Libraries and at Duke for pursuing further work.  Following each workshop, participants are welcome to linger in the Studio for hands-on practice or follow-up consultations.
