Exhibition Reception: Royal India and the British
Please join us as we celebrate Royal India and The British: The Photography of Samuel Bourne & Raja Lala Deen Dayal, an exhibition in the Mary Duke Biddle Room.
4:30 p.m.: Pre-tour of exhibition in Biddle Room with light appetizers available in Holsti-Anderson Family Assembly Room, Rubenstein Library Room 153.
5:00 p.m.: "Camera in the Colony,” a talk by Sumathi Ramaswamy, Professor of History at Duke and Co-director of the Duke India Initiative.
5:30 p.m.: Edward Proctor, Duke Librarian for South and Southeast Asia and UNC’s South and Southeast Asian Studies Librarian, will introduce the exhibit and lead a tour into the Biddle Room, discuss the images, and answer questions.
Free and open to the public.
